The Gospel

What exactly is the gospel? Well, first we need to ask, “Why was I made?” You were made for God’s glory. This is important because we must acknowledge that God is our Creator. Therefore, He must also be our Authority. He determines what is right and what is wrong. The Ten Commandments make up God’s law and teach us that things like lying, stealing, and murder are all wrong. When we break God’s law, it’s called sin. We are all sinners, and according to the Bible the consequence for our sin is eternal death. However, God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to be born of a virgin, live a perfect life, and die on the cross. When He was on that cross He paid for our sins by taking the punishment we deserve. He rose from the dead on the third day and is now seated at God’s right hand in heaven. He calls every person to turn from their sin (repentance) and place their trust in Jesus (faith). For all those who repent and put their faith in Jesus, God promises the gift of eternal life with Him in heaven.

So, have you seen how terrible your sin is to God? And do you see how good Jesus is for dying in your place? If so, repent and believe the good news that Jesus died for you!
